Provide an eraser that would erase a part of a texture just down to the original image , example a face , you add a texture , but you want to erase a portion of the texture down to original image ,,

That's an interesting idea. By "original image" do you mean the last saved version?

I think you could probably do something similar with the current version by adding a layer above the face/original image and drawing the texture on the new layer. Then you could use the eraser tool to remove part of the texture revealing the original image in the layer below.

Yes you could erase just an area you wanted back to original ,, last saved ,,, MediaChance / Photo Brush has this
Faster than partial layers ,,, this eraser could be called ORIGINAL ...

For future update .... Imagine .... a paint brush called A History Brush
The History Brush tool allows you to paint back portions of an image from the previous state or starting state in a picture's history. The most popular use of the this tool would to take a color picture, convert it to black and white, then brush the original color back into a particular feature.
Imagine adding a texture then with this History Brush ,,, able to remove certain areas ... options could be A round Brush
a square brush , and various sizes of brush ... Layering ,,, fine , but this would be so much better easier ,,

That's a good idea. You can sort of do something similar with the clone tool by selecting a different image as the clone's source. The different image could be an older version of the one your working on.
